Chris Albanese
Director of the Singing Hoosiers
Chris Albanese is a Pam and Jack Burks Assistant Professor of Choral Conducting and associate professor of music in choral conducting at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he directs the Grammy-nominated Singing Hoosiers and teaches courses in choral conducting.

Matthew Williamson
Assistant Conductor
Matthew Williamson is a conductor, organist, and singer, currently pursuing his Master’s of Music in Choral Conducting at the Jacobs School of Music. Interested and enthusiastic about all styles of choral music, Matthew is an avid advocate for contemporary and historical choral music. He has conducted the premieres of several new works for choir and also studies historical performance at the Jacobs School. At Jacobs, he has assisted the choir for Puccini’s La Bohème, assisted and conducted the University Chorale on a Dvorak Mass, and co-directed the All-Campus Choir and Conductors’ Chorus. He also sings in the contemporary choir NOTUS and the IU Compline Chorus. Before attending Jacobs, Matthew assistant directed Choral Chameleon, a contemporary choir in New York. He also served as organist and choir director at a Presbyterian Church in New Jersey. Matthew holds a BA from Williams College, where he majored in Music and English. At Williams, Matthew co-founded a sacred music ensemble and a TTBB chamber choir, led the Williams Choirs through the Covid pandemic, and prepared the La Bohème chorus, among other activities. While not making music, Matthew enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with his family and dogs.
