Chris Albanese
Director of the Singing Hoosiers
Chris Albanese is a Pam and Jack Burks Assistant Professor of Choral Conducting and associate professor of music in choral conducting at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he directs the Grammy-nominated Singing Hoosiers and teaches courses in choral conducting.

Daniel Myeongjun Kim
Assistant Conductor
Daniel Myeongjun Kim is a conductor, organist, and columnist who bridges the musical landscapes of Korea and the United States. Recognized for his first-place win at the 1st Korean Next-Generation Choral Conducting Competition in 2020, he has led ensembles such as the Yonsei Glee Club, Yonsei Children’s Choir, and Seoul Youth Choir. His extensive experience includes performances at prestigious venues like KBS Hall and the National Theater of Korea.
Currently, Kim serves as the director of music at the Korean United Methodist Church of Bloomington while also contributing to the popularization of classical music through his column, Myeongjun’s Music Say. As a conductor, educator, and writer, he is dedicated to fostering meaningful connections within the global choral community, bridging cultures and generations through his work.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in church music (with concentrations in choral conducting and organ) and communication from Yonsei University. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in choral conducting at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he serves as an Associate Instructor.
Gabriel Fanelli
Assistant Conductor
GabrielFanelli is a conductor and countertenor from San Francisco, CA. Since his first choral experience as a member of the Pacific Boychoir Academy, there has never been a time when he wasn't singing in or directing a choir. He completed his undergraduate studies with distinction at the University of Rochester, after which he earned his Master of Music in Choral Music from the University of Southern California. Before returning to pursue his doctorate, Gabriel worked in San Francisco, most recently as Choirmaster at Grace Cathedral, where he led the Choir of Men & Boys in services, concerts, and on international tours. Outside of choral music, Gabriel enjoys learning languages, video games, and sleeping.
