The full gamut of vocal chamber music

Directed by Dr. Chris Albanese, this mixed-voice, small ensemble performs the full gamut of vocal chamber music from the Renaissance to vocal jazz, new music, and contemporary pop (think Voces 8). The ensemble is featured in campus performances and on tour, along with performing special events on and off campus.  

 

Any current Singing Hoosier (returning or new member) is invited to audition for ResoluSHion. The ensemble is composed of twelve singers, 3 per part.  

 

A ResoluSHion member should possess: beautiful and expressive vocal tone, strong intonation, excellent musicianship, the ability to balance within a section and the ensemble as a whole, flexibility for performing multiple styles, and a passion for small ensemble singing.

 

Rehearsal time 

ResoluSHion will audition during regular Singing Hoosiers rehearsal time (M-F 4:35-5:25). Occasional additional rehearsals may be held (if needed) on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 5:25-6:25).  

 

Yes. Regular rehearsals will not overlap.  

 

Audition sign ups 

Please indicate your interest when filling out the general Singing Hoosiers audition Google form.

At the time of your regular Singing Hoosiers audition, you will present: a 1-2 minute selection from a piece of any style, which best demonstrates the skills outlined above.
New members may use their general SH audition piece OR present a second selection 
- A brief series of audiation/ear training exercises 
- A sight singing exercise 
Callbacks for ResoluSHion will be held during the first week of classes.
