2025-26 Auditions

Auditions for Fall 2025 have concluded. Thank you to everyone who auditioned, and congratulations to our new members!

Any IU student is welcome to audition for the Singing Hoosiers. Both new, prospective members as well as returning members must complete an audition in the fall. Reach out to Jack Lengerich (jalenger@iu.edu) for inquiries.

 

Several featured ensembles exist within the Singing Hoosiers for which separate auditions will be held. See below for more information.

Small Ensembles

This student led ensemble consists of between 12-15 singers and is featured in Singing Hoosiers concerts, community performances, and a cappella competitions. Any Singing Hoosier is invited to audition for SH A cappella. The Singing Hoosiers have a special connection to the pop a cappella community, as the founding members of Straight No Chaser formed while in the ensemble.

Audition process

Auditions consist of a group singing component.

 

This 18-20 member group is featured downstage performing advanced choreography during Singing Hoosiers performances. This student led dance core rehearses outside of full ensemble rehearsals. Varsity dancers posses a high level of skill, dedication, and time to devote to extra rehearsals. Questions, contact choreographers: Lauren Rohn (larohn@iu.edu) and Annie Libs (aclibs@iu.edu).

Directed by Dr. Chris Albanese, this mixed-voice, smallensemble performs the full gamut of vocal chamber music from music of the Renaissance to vocal jazz and contemporary pop. The ensemble will be featured in campus performances and on tour, along with performing special events on and off campus. Any Singing Hoosier is invited to audition for ResoluSHion. The ensemble is composed of twelve singers, 3 per part.

Audition process
Auditions consist of one prepared solo excerpt and a group singing component. The ensemble rehearses every Friday from 3-4:25 PM.
